By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Orange Walk Technical High School is this week reaping the benefits of the vegetables planted during the activities of World Food Day on October 20.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) reported that the school community of Orange Walk Technical School engaged in World Food Day, highlighting the value of sustainable agriculture and food security. With teamwork and cooperation, various vegetables were sown on the school grounds to provide experiential learning opportunities and cultivate a deeper appreciation of agricultural practices.

“The successful harvest serves as a testament to the commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Orange Walk Technical High School in promoting food sustainability and educating the younger generation about the significance of agriculture,” MAFSE said in a statement on social media applauding OWTS for its efforts.

“The vegetables harvested will contribute to the school’s nutrition program and further strengthen the connection between education and practical application.”
