Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology launches Belize Culture Fund

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On December 5, 2023, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology hosted the launch of the Belize Culture Fund.

The Ministry was joined by partners and friends in culture for the launch at the Belize City House of Culture.

The Belize Culture Fund is a small-grants programme administered by the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology.

It aims to protect and safeguard Belize’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage and promote the growth of the expressive arts and creative industry.

“This undertaking is a testament of support for our artists, artisans, and cultural custodians, ensuring that our heritage flourishes and evolves.

Its establishment is aligned with the Belize National Cultural Policy 2016-2026 and the commitments of #planBelize,” the Ministry noted.
