Ministry of Health and Wellness hosts National Achievement Award Ceremony

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On December 7, 2023, the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MoHW) hosted the National Achievement Award Ceremony.

The award ceremony was held to celebrate and give appreciation to the Community Health Workers on their exemplary service and commitment to providing basic health services. 

“The intentions of awarding Community Health Workers were to recognize and reward outstanding performance, encourage excellence, preserve dedicated volunteers and reinforce a culture of achievement and service for community health,” the Ministry said.

Fifty-one Community health workers were recognized for their contribution for 10, 15 years, and 20 or more years.

Golden Achievement Awards were also presented for exceptional contributions made by 25 individuals.

This celebration was the result of a partnership between the Ministry of Health and Wellness and UNICEF Belize.

“We extend our gratitude to everyone who helped in any way to make this event a success. Congratulations to our Community Health Workers. We appreciate your continued dedication and service,” the Ministry expressed.
