Public Notice from the Ministry responsible for Transport on Floralia weekend runs denied by the courts

Contributed by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Transport: The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Transport informs the public that today the Supreme Court denied a request to vary the deadline of December 10, 2023, for termination of specific Floralia Bus Road Service Permits. These are three bus runs: 1.) one originating at 5:30 a.m. from Punta Gorda en route to Belize City daily, 2.) a bus run originating at 6:30 a.m. in Punta Gorda en route to Belize City from Monday to Saturday and 3.) a bus run that departs Dangriga at 6:00 a.m. en route to Belize City from Monday to Saturday.

The Ministry is committed to working on a solution to minimize a break in service to commuters.

The Ministry will provide a further public advisory by midday tomorrow to inform commuters on what to expect as of December 11, 2023 as a result of this decision.
