By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The two Belizean representatives, 3-time World Champions Ek’ Balam Belize and new team Kinich Ahau continue their quest to win the 5th Pok-Ta-Pok World Cup being held in Orange Walk.

Reports out of Orange Walk say both teams won their two opening games on Saturday. With the absence of the Panama teams, Ek’ Balam Belize has three more games today in the Black Group while Kinich Ahau has two more games in the White Group.

In the Black Group, Mexico Black also won their two games. That makes the Ek’ Balam Belize against Mexico Black the game to watch on Saturday.

The Kinish Ahau women’s team is also continuing its participation in the first Women’s World Cup which features teams from Guatemala, Mexico, and El Salvador.

The Men’s White Group and the Women’s World Cup are playing today at the Orange Walk Multi-Purpose Complex while the Black Group is playing at the Orange Walk People’s Stadium.

The two teams teams in each group qualify for the semifinals. The semifinals and finals will be played on Sunday.
