Motorist ran off road due to reckless driving by bus

Posted: Saturday, December 9, 2023. 3:01 pm CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Motorist Evan Tench shared a video on social media that shows him running off the road in an attempt to avoid a bus coming in the opposite direction.

The video was recorded with dashcam on Thursday afternoon.

The bus was overtaking a truck and took a run for it even with vehicles coming from the opposite direction.

Tench says that he was forced to pull off the road.

“Pulling off the road at 55MPH into loose gravel was also scary,” Tench stated.

There has been a spate of fatal road traffic accidents on the Highways of Belize that claimed the lives of many loved ones.

Belizeans traveling and planning to travel over the upcoming busy Christmas and New Year’s Holidays are reminded of the importance of adhering to traffic laws.

There is no need to rush! It is better to arrive alive than not arrive at all.

Exercise patience and extend courtesy to other road users.

Motorcycle riders are also urged to exercise extreme caution and ensure proper helmets are worn.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
