Police investigating San Pedro woman’s sudden death

Posted: Saturday, December 16, 2023. 10:53 am CST.

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating the sudden death of 38-year-old Adela Estela Ifield, of San Pedrito Area, San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, whose body was found this morning at her residence.

Police report that according to her partner Delmar Wright, 41, of DFC Area, he found Ifield lying face down on a bed inside the room, nude, with a sheet covering her lower body, around 4:30 Saturday morning.

Wright told police that he left her at home on Friday and went to his brother’s home, then returned around 10 p.m. with food for her before going back to his brother’s home. He mentioned exchanging text messages with her at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, but said that when he tried to call her there was no answer.

Police found no sign of injury or foul play on their examination of the body and the scene, but a post-mortem examination will take place.

Of note is that Ifield had been reported missing for a brief time in October of this year. Police investigations continue.
