Jealousy allegedly leads to knife fight and stabbing in Belize City Lake-I neighborhood

By Aaron Humes: A Belize City man has been hospitalized and another is in police custody following a knife fight and stabbing believed to be caused by jealousy.

According to police, earlier on Sunday afternoon two couples from CET Site in Lake Independence, Belize City were socializing when one of the boyfriends began getting jealous of how his partner was conducting herself with the other man, one Maleek Pitts.

The men began fighting and eventually Pitts was stabbed several times with a knife inside the kitchen of the house where they were socializing. Pitts is admitted in stable condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
