By Rubén Morales Iglesias: A group of 10 farmers from San Lucas Village, who are part of a backyard poultry project supported by HUMANA People to People, received a specialized training on how to use and manage an incubator on Monday, December 18, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) reported.

The training was facilitated by the Toledo Department of Agriculture, which responded to the farmers’ request for assistance in learning about incubation techniques.

“The training session covered a range of topics, including optimal incubator settings, egg handling, monitoring conditions, and troubleshooting common issues,” MAFSE said in a social media post.

“Practical sessions allowed participants to gain hands-on experience, ensuring they are well-prepared to implement these techniques in their backyard poultry project.”

The Agriculture Ministry said the incubator training is an example of how the farmers, HUMANA People to People, and the Toledo Department of Agriculture are working together to improve agricultural practices in the community. By using an incubator, the farmers hope to increase their poultry production and enhance the sustainability of their project.
