Posted: Sunday, January 7, 2024. 6:10 am CST.

By Horace Palacio: As the day begins in Belize, residents and visitors alike can look forward to mainly fair and mostly dry weather conditions, according to the latest update from the National Meteorological Service of Belize. The general forecast, released at 6:01 AM this morning, promises a day filled with sunshine and minimal chances of rain.

Throughout the day, the weather is expected to remain mostly sunny, transitioning into a clear to partly cloudy sky as night falls. While the possibility of showers exists, they are predicted to be isolated incidents if they occur at all.

Marine conditions are also set to be favorable for those looking to venture into the waters. Eastward winds are forecasted to blow at a gentle pace of 5 to 15 knots. The sea state is described as choppy, with wave heights expected to range between 3 to 5 feet, making it a suitable day for various marine activities.

Temperature-wise, coastal areas will experience highs of around 86°F (30°C) and lows near 77°F (25°C). Inland regions can expect slightly warmer conditions, with temperatures peaking at about 92°F (33°C) and dropping to 69°F (21°C) at night. In the hills, the temperatures will range from a high of 83°F (28°C) to a cooler night-time low of 67°F (19°C).

Looking ahead, the weather outlook for Monday and Monday night indicates a continuation of similar conditions, maintaining the stretch of pleasant weather.

For those planning their day around the tides, the first high tide will be recorded at 7:43 AM, followed by a low tide at 12:09 PM. Another high tide is expected at 6:18 PM, with the next low tide early tomorrow at 2:12 AM.

The sun will rise at 6:24 AM and is set to set at 5:33 PM. Moon watchers should note that the moon will set today at 1:59 PM and rise again early tomorrow at 3:35 AM. This information, provided by Forecaster Tareek Matthews, is essential for those planning to spend their time outdoors or on the water.
