By Aaron Humes: 20-year-old Jahleel Isaiah Craig has been accused of aggravated assault with a firearm after twice attempting to shoot two men who were moving house on Friday, only to see the gun snap twice.
Police today said Craig, identified as a member of the Leadership Intervention Unit (LIU), has a prior criminal record, but his motive for shooting at Norris Patnett and Norman Grant on January 26 is not known to them.
Craig pleaded not guilty in court and was denied bail. He returns to court in March.
Patnett and Grant were moving house from East Collet Canal when a bicycle rider whom they recognized as Craig pulled and began trying to open fire with a weapon, first targeting Patnett, then Grant.
After failing to hit either of them, he gave up and rode off.
