Expanding trade opportunities between Belize and Trinidad is main topic discussed in Minister Jose Mai’s meeting with Trinidad’s Trade and Commerce Minister

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Minister of Trade and Industry of Trinidad and Tobago, Paula Gopee-Scoon visited the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise at National Showgrounds, Belmopan.

Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon and a delegation paid a courtesy visit to Minister of Agriculture Jose Abelardo Mai, CEO Servulo Baeza and other members of the Ministry’s senior management technical team.

Discussions focused on areas of trade, markets and global movements in commerce and agriculture with particular reference to agricultural products and CARICOM markets.

Minister Goppee-Scoon was eager to share experiences with various products and talked extensively of Trinidad’s interest in specific products.

Minister Goppee-Scoon is on a trade mission to Belize from January 31-February 3, with the ultimate objective of networking with Belizean businesses to improve trade between both countries.

The delegation will be participating in and site visits all over the country during their visit as they explore the Belizean market potential for export.
