Government of Belize extends condolences to families in Chile affected by deadly wildfires

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Government of Belize through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended their deepest condolences to the Government and People of Chile, particularly the families affected by the wildfires in the Valparaiso region.

“Belize rues over the immense loss of life and property and calls on the international community to amplify its advocacy for the implementation of climate policies geared towards preventing the frequency of these natural disasters,” a statement from the Ministry noted.

Firefighters in Chile are battling deadly forest fires that have claimed 112 lives and destroyed entire neighborhoods.
