Man fined $30 for drinking Belikin in public

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man was fined $30 in court on Thursday after pleading guilty to drinking a $2.75 pint of Belikin beer in public.

Francisco Torres, 25, appeared in court unrepresented on Thursday and pleaded guilty to public drinking.

For his plea, he was imposed a non-custodial sentence of a fine of $25 plus $5 cost of court. He was given until March 12, 2024 to pay; in default, one week imprisonment.

On January 28, police found Torres drinking on Albert Street and he was picked up and charged.
