Thieves demand $10,000 in exchange for stolen vehicle in Belmopan

By Breaking Belize News Staff: On January 27, 2024, the vehicle of Rolando Albeno was stolen from his home in Las Flores, Belmopan.

Albeno was offering a $5000 reward leading to the recovery of his 2018 Toyota Tacoma.

However, the family contacted BBN today to explain that the thief/thieves are attempting to extort the family.

According to them, the Belmopan Police have been working on the case and are unable to retrieve the vehicle since the culprit/s are demanding $10,000 in exchange of the vehicle.

In addition, the culprit/s are threatening the family.

The family is calling on the Commissioner of Police to investigate this matter urgently.

From the pictures shared by culprit/s, the family believes that the vehicle is hidden somewhere in the Cayo District.

Anyone with information leading to the recovery of the vehicle is urged to contact the nearest police station.
