Three robbers hit cement block factory at Mahogany Street

By Aaron Humes: Police have detained one suspect and are looking for two others in the robbery of J&Y Cement Block Factory located on Mahogany Street, Belize City, on Friday afternoon after three.

Owner Jiabi Wang reported that she was standing at the entrance of her business establishment, when she was approached by a dark complexion man, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, dressed in a blue shirt, white 3/4 pants, black and white slippers with a black shirt over his head, who pulled out what appeared to be a black firearm, pointed it towards her and grabbed her throat. A second fair-skinned man about 5 feet 6 inches in height dressed in a Khaki T-Shirt, black 3/4 pants with a black ski mask covering his face then approached and helped the first man to hold Wang against the door as a struggle ensued.

A third man of dark complexion dressed in a white T-shirt with striped sleeve, dark blue 3/4 pants and a sky blue fitted cap came from the direction of La Croix Boulevard, entered the compound and ran towards both male persons who were struggling with Wang. This man then relieved about BZ$2,000 in different denominations from Wang’s right pants pocket. All three suspects fled on to Mahogany Street towards Administration Drive and escaped.

Police investigations continue.
