By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Area Representative for Cayo Northeast Orlando Habet says that for some time now, Independence Park in San Ignacio had been dilapidated.
After several submissions, Habet expressed gratitude to the Belize Electricity Limited for installing lights on Guerra street and lights within the park.
Habet says that the plan is to refurbish the park and remodel the old basketball court into a Five- A- Side court with synthetic grass and appropriate LED lights with fencing and bleachers.
“The community around Independence park will now be able to use the park at day time and night time.
Join us if you see us working out there. The park is public and belongs to the people,” Habet said.
