Howard Reyes freed of all charges in 2023 shooting incident

By Aaron Humes: The alleged victims of a shooting incident in 2023 have requested all charges be dropped against the alleged shooter, Howard Reyes of Burrell Boom, Belize District.

Reyes, 28, was accused of attempting to murder James Alexander Perry, aggravated assault by firearm of Casey Haylock, wounding and use of deadly means of harm and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition for a nine-millimeter pistol.

The major charges were withdrawn last November by order of the Director of Public Prosecutions and Perry personally appeared in court to drop court action on the two remaining charges of wounding and use of deadly means of harm.

According to police reports, Perry, from St Paul’s Bank, Belize District, was walking home when a grey Chevrolet Equinox vehicle drove up beside him and someone from within the vehicle fired shots towards his direction and injuring his left hip.
