By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Women’s National Team (BWNT will kick off training for the Concacaf Women’s Nations League on Friday, the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) announced on Monday.
The BWNT will this year be playing in Concacaf Women’s Nations League B after a sensational six-games undefeated run last year in their group against Aruba, Bonaire, and Turks and Caicos Islands in League C.
The FFB said the Concacaf Women’s League will run from June to November.
To that end the BWNT is being called for training on Friday, February 23. The players will train the entire weekend.
After that, they will have two weekend training sessions per month from March to June, and one in July.
Additionally, the BWNT have two friendly matches against the Motlow College Women’s Team in March. The first game will be played at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence on Saturday, March 2. The second match will be at Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro on Friday, March 8. The FFB has a good working relationship with the American college, which has sent its football team to Belize before.
