This monumental achievement marks a significant step forward in the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Plenty Belize, Belize Power Connect Limited The GEF Small Grants Programme – Belize, UNDP Belize and other key stakeholders committed to sustainable development.
Twelve homes, one school, guest house and a restaurant within the village now bask in the glow of clean, renewable solar energy.
This transformation not only illuminates their lives but also propels them towards a greener and more sustainable future.
But the impact doesn’t stop there. Across Belize, similar initiatives are revolutionizing remote and rural communities.
Over 15,000 Belizeans have already been touched by the light of clean energy, thanks to projects like these.
“This concerted effort is not just about providing electricity; it’s about aligning with Sustainable Development Goals such as #SDG7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), #SDG11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and #SDG15 (Life on Land), Belize is demonstrating its unwavering commitment to leaving no one behind in the pursuit of a brighter, more sustainable future for all,” the Ministry noted.
