Belize take on British Virgin Islands on Tuesday in Concacaf Under-20 Championship Qualifiers

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Under 20 Belize Men’s National Team (U20 BMNT) will play their second game in the Concacaf Under-20 Championship Qualifiers against the British Virgin Islands on Tuesday in Managua, Nicaragua.

The Group A match at the Estadio Nacional de Nicaragua is set to kick off at 4:00 pm. Nicaragua will play Anguilla at 7:00 pm.

Belize stumbled in their first game falling 6-0 to Nicaragua on Sunday.

Nicaragua and Cuba, who have already played two games, lead the competition with six points. Tied on goal difference at +14 each, Cuba are in the top spot on number of goals scored (15 to 14).

Belize, British Virgin Islands, and Anguilla don’t have any points, though BVI have played two games to Belize’s and Anguilla’s one game.

The qualifiers started on Friday with Cuba wiping out Anguilla 13-0 while Nicaragua dumped British Virgin Islands 8-0.

On Sunday, Cuba downed the British Virgin Islands 2-1 while Nicaragua outdid the U20 BMNT.

Belize’s third match will pit our young men against Cuba at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 29. Anguilla will tackle British Virgin Islands at 4:00 pm.

The final group match for Belize will be against Anguilla on Saturday, March 2 at 2:00 pm. Nicaragua will tackle Cuba at 7:00 pm.

Only the group winners qualify to the U20 Concacaf Championship.

The U20 BMNT returns on Sunday, March 3.
