By Rubén Morales Iglesias: As part of their preparation for the Concacaf Women’s Nations League, the Belize Women’s National Team (BWNT) are playing two friendly matches against Motlow State Community College from Tennessee in the upcoming days.

What makes these two games rather interesting is that BWNT player Kaite Jones will be playing for her Motlow, where she is currently studying.

Kaite Jones is coming home but this time she’s coming with the Motlow State Soccer! Join the countdown and remember the Senior Women’s National team take on Motlow Saturday night!” the FFB posted on social media.

“I’m excited because I get to go back home, but not alone. I am going with the bucks. I am looking forward to having so much fun with my teammates in my home country. I can’t wait,” Kaite said according to a post by Motlow State.

The FFB was referring to the first game which is scheduled for the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence on Saturday, March 2.

The second match will be at Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro on Friday, March 8.

The FFB has a good working relationship with the American college, which has sent its football team to Belize before.

Apart from playing the two matches against the BWNT, the Motlow State Community College team will be visiting primary schools and making donations.

“I’m excited to go back to Belize for the opportunity to help local schools, put smiles on kids faces, and also enjoy the different cultural experiences,” Motlow player Alysa Benton said in a post on Wednesday.

The BWNT started training on February 23 for their participation in the Concacaf Women’s Nations League B. After a sensational six-games undefeated run last year in League C last year against Aruba, Bonaire, and Turks and Caicos Islands, the BWNT moved up to League B.

The Concacaf Women’s League will run from June to November.
