33 heads of state to attend community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) summit

By Horace Palacio: Caribbean Loop News reports that regional leaders have begun arriving in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for the VIII Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). Chaired by Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves, who also serves as CELAC President, the summit is scheduled for tomorrow at the soon-to-open Sandals Resort in Buccament Bay.

Among the 33 Heads of State and Government expected to attend are Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Honduras President Xiomara Castro, Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley, Belize government officials, and Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne. The summit will focus on strengthening regional dialogue and collaboration within the Latin American and Caribbean region.

Additionally, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is slated to participate in the high-level meeting, further highlighting the significance of the CELAC summit and its potential impact on global issues.
