Shooting in La Democracia: Teenager injured while hanging out in the dark

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating the shooting of a teenage man in the village of La Democracia, Belize District, on Monday night.

According to police, at about 10:10pm on Monday while Police officers were conducting mobile patrol on 4th Street, La Democracia Village, they met 18-year-old Glenn Ramos who was seen limping and said that he was shot in his left ankle.

Information is that Ramos and others were socializing in a yard when they came under gun fire and thereafter Glenn Ramos felt a burning sensation on his left foot. No one was able to see who did the shooting as the area was dark.

Ramos was escorted to the Western Regional Hospital, Belmopan and investigations continue.
