By Horace Palacio: Belize has deployed a 51-member joint task force to Jamaica for specialized peacekeeping training in preparation for a possible mission in Haiti. The team includes 20 Coast Guard Special Operations Group personnel and 31 Belize Defence Force soldiers.
In Jamaica, they will join forces from Jamaica and the Bahamas to form the Caribbean Joint Task Force. The multinational training will focus on skills essential for successful peacekeeping operations.
Belize’s deployment demonstrates its commitment to regional security and stability within the Caribbean.
