Average high temperatures forecast today will be 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 104 degrees in inland areas, and 87 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 81 degrees along the coast, 74 degrees inland, and 67 degrees in the hills. A heat alert is in effect. As temperatures are expected to exceed 97 degrees Fahrenheit inland, residents, especially those inland, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible, especially during afternoon hours.

Winds are easterly to southeasterly at ten to 20 knots, and sea state is rough. A small craft warning is in effect for gusty winds and rough seas. Operators of small crafts should remain in safe harbor.

The sun sets at 6:08 this evening and rises at 5:39 on Thursday morning.

Hot and dry conditions will continue through Thursday and then the approach of a weak cold front will support an increase in showers and thunderstorms Thursday night.

Our thanks to forecaster Francisca Wellington at the Belize Weather Bureau, Ladyville.
