By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The National Meteorological Service of Belize issued a thunderstorm watch last night as a weak cold front passes over the country.

After days of extreme temperatures and heat alerts, Belizeans are grateful for the rains.

Minister of Agriculture, Jose Abelardo Mai says that in San Lazaro, Orange Walk, there was almost 2 inches of rain last night.

The extended forecast is for a few showers or light rain to continue.
