Elmer Nah will stand trial in the High Court for Belmopan triple murder

By Aaron Humes: The Belmopan Magistrate’s Court has committed Elmer Nah, former police officer, to stand trial for the triple murder of Jon, David, and Vivian Ramnarace on December 31, 2022, in the High Court.

Special prosecutor Terrence Williams of Jamaica and Alifa Elrington of the Prosecution Branch overcame an objection to certain evidence by Nah’s attorney Lyndon Jones. They convinced the court that a prima facie case has been made against Nah.

Nah will first attend the High Court’s June session pending indictment and hearing.

He has vehemently denied involvement and has tried to plant stories in other media accusing a fellow officer of involvement, presumably making this a key plank of his defense.

Family members of the Ramnaraces hailed this key step and said they hoped that they would not have to wait much longer for closure.
