Happy Earth Day 2024

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the Youth Empowerment Alliance (YEA), the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Climate Change and Minister Orlando Habet and Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture, Alex Balona celebrated Earth Day by planting trees at the Santa Cruz Park in Santa Elena and the Independence Park in San Ignacio.

The theme for Earth Day 2024 is Planet vs. Plastics.

Minister Habet encouraged all Belizeans to become Greening across Belize ambassadors, to protect the planet we live on and to inspire others to plant and safeguard our environment.

Minister Habet also urged all Belizeans to eliminate and reduce pollution.

President of the YEA, Adrian Palma reiterated the importance of protecting our planet.

Councilor Aaron Mai of the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council encouraged all Belizeans to celebrate Earth Day by greening across Belize.

The YEA were also joined by the Santa Elena Jaguar Scouts in greening the Santa Cruz and Independence Parks.
