Ministry of Economic Development supports Ministries with equipment to support projects in Agriculture, Climate information and Digital Innovation

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the Ministry of Economic Development, through its Central Executing Unit, handed over equipment to support the implementation of projects being executed by the Government of Belize.

Six motorcycles were handed over to the Ministry of Agriculture to support work under the GOB/IDB-funded Sustainable and Inclusive Belize project.

The Ministry noted that the project aims to improve income and livelihoods within the agriculture and tourism sectors.

Additionally, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Climate Change received equipment and human resources to upscale the Climate Risks Information System.

The support will benefit the National Meteorological Service and the National Climate Change Office to incorporate climate information into nationwide planning processes.

The Attorney General’s Ministry also received IT hardware to support the Vital Statistics Unit to support the digital transformation of the civil registries.

This is under the Digital Innovation to Boost Economic Development in Belize project.
