Son swung on father with firewood

By Aaron Humes: Thomas Teul, 39, a Belizean laborer of Bladen Village, Toledo District has been arrested and charged with the aggravated assault of his father Rufino Choc, 81.

On Saturday, Choc reported to police at the Bella Vista Police Sub-station that at about 1:00 a.m., he was at home when his son Thomas Teul, who was apparently under the influence of alcohol started cursing and threatening him, for no apparent reason.

As a result, he went outside in his yard and approached his son to calm him. From about three feet away, Thomas picked up a piece of firewood and swung it at him, which caused him to be fearful for his life. He requested court action.
