By Aaron Humes: A Belize City resident was held up inside his own residence on Tuesday afternoon.
Police met Bryan Navas at the corner Santa Barbara and Banak Street, Belize City, where he was seen with a small cut wound on the right side of the chin area.
According to Navas, at around 12:30 in the afternoon he heard his dogs barking unusually at the back of his yard. As he went to check he encountered a man alteady inside the house, who then pointed a black firearm at him and demanded money.
A second man joined them and the first man hit Navas in the face with the gun.
The second man then began to ransack the bedroom and stole a Samsung Galaxy S21FE cellular phone valued at $3,000; a red HP laptop valued at $1,000 with serial number unknown and a black Dell laptop valued at $1,000. Thereafter both men escaped towards Partridge Street.
Police found that entry was gained from the back door of the house where the screen door was not locked. Their investigations continue.
