Minister of Foreign Affairs meet with U.S. State Department representative, Belizean students in Guatemala

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On May 6, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs Francis Fonseca traveled to Guatemala City to represent Belize at the meeting on the Los Angeles Declaration on Migration and Protection.

Foreign Affairs Ministers from Central America ,Latin America and the Caribbean were in attendance along with the US Secretary of State.

In Guatemala, the Foreign Minister also used the opportunity to hold bilateral meetings with the US State Department and US Homeland Security Department.

In addition, Minister Fonseca held very productive meeting with the Foreign Minister of Guatemala and discussion included issues of mutual interest.

“I also met with Secretary General Lima of SIECA to discuss expanding trade opportunities for Belize within the Central American Market,” Minister Fonseca said.

Minister Fonseca also met with Belizean students furthering their education in Guatemala.
