Love Turns Violent: Bella Vista teenager suffers harm at the hands of her boyfriend

By Horace Palacio: An 18-year-old construction worker from Bella Vista Village, Gilbert Cal, has been arrested and charged with harm after a domestic dispute with his 14-year-old girlfriend.

On May 7th, an argument between the couple escalated into violence, resulting in the young victim suffering injuries to her cheek and head. She reported the incident to the Independence Police Station the following day, accompanied by her father.

The victim provided a detailed account of the assault, stating that Cal raised his voice, pushed her to the ground, and then grabbed her by the neck, pushing her against a wall. She attempted to flee to her mother’s house but was caught and punched by Cal. Two police officers residing in the same apartment building intervened and rescued her.

Following the report, the victim was taken to the Independence Polyclinic for medical examination, and her injuries were classified as harm. Statements were collected from both the victim and her father, who requested legal action against the perpetrator.

On May 13th, Cal was detained pending charges. On May 15th, he was formally arrested and charged with harm. He was informed of his constitutional rights but chose to remain silent.
