By Horace Palacio: The National Meteorological Service of Belize has issued a forecast predicting continued hot and dry weather across the country. Residents and visitors can expect mostly sunny skies, hazy conditions, and high temperatures throughout the day.

The morning forecast indicates that temperatures will soar to 91°F (33°C) along the coast, while inland areas will experience even higher temperatures of 104°F (40°C). Hilly regions will offer some respite with slightly cooler temperatures of 86°F (30°C).

Although rain is not expected in most areas, isolated thunderstorms may develop over the Maya Mountains during the afternoon and evening hours. The marine forecast predicts moderate sea conditions with winds blowing from the east-southeast at 10-20 knots. Waves are expected to reach 4-6 feet in height.

The outlook for Saturday and Saturday night suggests that similar weather conditions will persist. Residents and visitors are advised to take precautions against the heat by staying hydrated, seeking shade, and avoiding strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.

Forecaster Catherine Cumberbatch stated that this weather pattern is typical for this time of year in Belize. She also reminded the public to stay informed about the latest weather updates and to follow any advisories issued by the National Meteorological Service.

The National Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the weather conditions and provide regular updates to the public.
