By Breaking Belize News Staff: Kervisha Harris, a 50-year-old Northside resident, is back behind bars after a court error led to her temporary release despite a revoked bail. Harris, who was originally jailed for burglary, was mistakenly freed on April 8, 2024, after pleading guilty to a separate charge of possession of utensils for a crack pipe.
The mix-up occurred when Harris was fined $1,000 for the drug paraphernalia offense, overlooking her earlier bail revocation on April 5, 2024. The error went unnoticed for weeks until authorities realized the mistake. Harris was re-arrested and remanded, with her bail reconsideration set for July 14.
