The second official side event focused on “Revitalizing Small Island Developing States Economies for Accelerated and Sustainable Growth.”

Mayor Wagner made an intervention highlighting collective action towards enhancing SIDS’ economic diversification, building resilience and disaster recovery, and propelling sustainable development through practical steps including to utilizing the blue economy for SIDS’ sustainable growth, tourism, ocean industry expansion, renewable energy, and more.

The 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) brings together high-level representatives from SIDS Member States, the UN, the private sector, and civil society to contribute to dynamic and forward-thinking discussions on SIDS’ sustainable development progress and the proposal of a new decade of partnerships and solutions to supercharge their path to resilient prosperity.
