By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man, Lawrence Jamie McNab, has been granted bail after being charged with two counts of theft and one count of taking a motor vehicle without authority. McNab, 27, of Balan Street, appeared unrepresented in Court #5 on Tuesday.
McNab is accused of stealing three vehicles, each valued at $30,000, from AQ Auto Rental For Less. The charges specify the theft of a white 2013 Chevrolet Equinox on May 23, 2024, and a red 2012 Chevrolet Equinox on May 27, 2024, both in Ladyville. Additionally, he is charged with taking a black 2015 Chevrolet Equinox for his own use on May 20, 2024.
Police Prosecutor Sgt. Noel Muschamp did not object to bail but requested conditions. The Magistrate granted McNab bail at $3,000 plus one surety of the same amount, with conditions that he must not contact or interfere with AQ Auto Rental For Less or be found on their premises. Additionally, McNab must avoid further legal trouble or risk revocation of bail.
McNab’s case has been adjourned to August 6, 2024, for either partial or full disclosure, and it will be heard in Court #4.
