Candidates gear up for convention in Corozal North

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Candidates are gearing up for the PUP convention in Corozal North.

The candidates Ivan Valencia and Dr. Einstein Bodden are on the campaign trail visiting and meeting with residents in that constituency.

Valencia told BBN that he and his team have been on the campaign trail and are excited for the convention.

“I have been hitting the ground sprinting after the confirmation of my acceptance letter. The vibe I’m picking up is that the mass of Party’s Supporters and General Voters in the Corozal North Area are happy and excited that a convention was allowed. Personally, I have been in the area working with village committees and the community in general in several aspects,” Valencia said.

Valencia says that he has been involved since 2014 and have been engaged in sports, culture, and dance, empowering and uplifting youth.

“Overall, the cry is the disconnection and lack of communication between candidates and people. The current position is not a sweet one in the area. History has shown this time and time again. However, amidst all this, they see someone that did not give up, someone that even while the odds have been rough, continued pushing and doing,” Valencia added.

Valencia also expressed gratitude to all supporters for their support and confidence.

“This is The People’s Movement. Let’s build together a Corozal North for everyone,” Valencia expressed.

Valencia will face Dr. Bodden at the convention to become the next PUP standard bearer.

Dr. Bodden has served in the public and private setting and has been providing medical services at the Presbyterian Medical Clinic under the national health insurance program to the residents of Patchakan and all the surrounding villages that encompass the Corozal North Constituency.

“To the people of Corozal North, we have been together for a long time. We have shared many moments. I can still recall our laughter and pain. I still remember our moments of triumph and loss, too. We have always been listening to each other’s needs, and I can still clearly recall the many dreams we shared while envisioning the future of Corozal North and Belize as a whole,” Dr. Bodden expressed.

“Now is the time to break barriers. There is no more room for fear or failure. Plan Belize has been actively transforming this nation before our very eyes, and we need to ensure it reaches us. We deserve to feel the love on our side. I humbly ask for your support. Give meaning and power to your vote. Let us join hands in pursuit of greatness. Together, we rise,” Dr. Bodden added.

The convention is set for Sunday, July 14 at the Mary Hill Catholic Primary School.
