By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect another day of mixed weather as moist and unstable conditions continue to linger over the region. The National Meteorological Service of Belize has issued a forecast for today, June 22, 2024, predicting sunny skies with cloudy intervals throughout the day.

While isolated showers are anticipated across the country, the extreme north may experience a few showers or isolated thunderstorms. The forecast indicates an increase in showers and thunderstorms, particularly over northern and coastal areas, late tonight and tomorrow morning.

Mariners should expect winds blowing from east to southeast at 5-15 knots, resulting in choppy seas with waves reaching 3-5 feet. Temperatures along the coast will range from a high of 90°F (31°C) to a low of 81°F (27°C). Inland areas will experience slightly higher temperatures, reaching 95°F (35°C) during the day and dropping to 74°F (23°C) at night.

Looking ahead to Sunday and Sunday night, cloudy skies will persist, with outbreaks of showers and thunderstorms expected, mainly over northern and coastal areas. The intensity of the showers is expected to decrease gradually during Sunday night.

Residents and visitors are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and advisories from the National Meteorological Service of Belize. It is essential to be prepared for potential disruptions due to the ongoing weather conditions.
