Groundbreaking ceremony for Mabil Ha Village Water Supply System

The Belize Social Investment Fund (BSIF) and the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour & Local Government are pleased to announce the groundbreaking of the new Mabil Ha Village Water Supply System, held on Sunday, June 23rd. This significant event marks a milestone in our ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Mabil Ha Village through improved access to safe and reliable water.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Village Alcalde, the Village Chairman, and many enthusiastic residents, demonstrating the community’s strong support and

anticipation for the project. This collaborative initiative is a testament to the government’s commitment to rural development and community empowerment.

The Mabil Ha Village Water Supply System project, under the Caribbean Development Bank Basic Needs Trust Fund Tenth Cycle will include the construction of water infrastructure designed to meet the current and future needs of the village. This system will ensure a sustainable and efficient water supply, significantly reducing the time and effort residents currently spend on water collection.

In his address, the Village Alcalde expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Belize Social Investment Fund and the ministry for their dedication to addressing the water needs of Mabil Ha Village. Minister Oscar Requena and BSIF Executive Director Carlos Tun highlighted the transformative impact the new water supply system will have on daily life, including better health outcomes and enhanced opportunities for local development.
