Man killed, another critically injured in Cotton Tree Village shooting spree

By Horace Palacio: A man was shot dead and another critically injured in a dispute in the village of Cotton Tree, police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred late on Saturday night when an argument escalated between a group of people socializing near the primary school. Akeem Richards, one of the individuals involved, allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired shots at Clint Castillo, 41, and Andrew Muns, 32.

Castillo was pronounced dead at the Western Regional Hospital early on Sunday morning. Muns is in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his shoulder and neck.

Police have recovered two expended 9mm shells, a knife, and a hat at the scene. A search is underway for Richards, who is wanted in connection with the shooting.
