Seven Miles kick off the National Amateur Interdistrict Championship’s 7 Round of 16 matches on Saturday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The final seven matches in the Football Federation of Belize’s National Amateur Interdistrict Championship (NAIC) will be played on Saturday and Sunday at several venues countrywide.

Seven Miles kick off the weekend’s matches on Saturday attempting to overturn a 2-1 score against Belmopan’s Club Atletico at 4:00 pm at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio.

Orange Walk’s Mi Gente from Guinea Grass are the only team to have Qualified to the Quarterfinals. They did so with a 6-5 aggregate score over MidSouth’s Garage FC. Mi Gente won the first leg 4-2 but fell 3-2 on the return.

The second game on Saturday features Legends hosting Belize City’s Tut Bay at the Victor Sanchez Union Field in Punta Gorda at 7:00 pm. Legends have the edge having won the first leg 3-2 in Belize City last Sunday.

The third Saturday game will see New Site Hustlers hosting San Pedro Conquerors at the Carl Ramos Stadium also at 7:00 pm. The series is tied at 1-1.

On Sunday, Yo Creek United and Corozal’s Calcutta Bulls will seek to untie the 2-2 score when they clash at 4:00 pm at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk.

Griga Conquerors, who drew 0-0 in their first match with the Midsouth’s 501 Spartans, will take them on again. This time the face off at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga at 4:30 pm.

Belmopan’s Napoles will be at home at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan hoping to overturn the 3-1 deficit against Belize City’s Caesar Ridge. The match at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium starts at 6:00 pm.

Terror Squad will close the Round of 16 also hoping to a 3-1 score against Corozal’s Copper Bank when they meet at 6:30 pm at Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro.
