Honduran caught drinking Belikin in public charged and now faces possible deportation

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Marcus Gutierrez Larias, 27, a Honduran national, was fined for public drinking and turned over to the Belize Immigration Department after failing to provide proof of legal residency.

Larias, of no fixed address in Belama Phase 4, pleaded guilty in Court #3 to drinking a Belikin Beer in public on July 3. He was fined $30 but couldn’t pay, resulting in a week-long prison sentence.

The Immigration Department is now investigating his status in Belize, with possible charges and expulsion pending the outcome.
