By Breaking Belize News Staff: Japhet Steadman Gordon, 31, a barber from Lords Bank, has been remanded to Belize Central Prison after being charged with threat of death and harm against his common-law wife.
Gordon appeared in court yesterday and was offered bail of $1,000, which he couldn’t meet. His common-law wife, a 27-year-old caretaker, accused him of threatening to kill her and her child and causing harm during a domestic dispute.
Gordon pleaded guilty to harm but not guilty to the threat of death. His next court date is set for August 16, 2024. Conditions of his bail include no contact with the victim and staying 100 yards away from her.
