UDP Mayor Earl Trapp retracts call for Patrick Faber’s expulsion

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: San Ignacio/Santa Elena Mayor Earl Trapp has reportedly retracted his request for the expulsion of Patrick Faber from the United Democratic Party (UDP).

Trapp’s decision comes after a leaked letter, originally addressed to UDP Party Chairman Michael Peyrefitte, was made public.

Mayor Trapp said in the letter that “It is disheartening to see Party members such as Patrick Faber repeatedly engage in destructive behavior that erodes public trust in the UDP and undermines our chances to win the next General Elections…Patrick Faber must be expelled…in order for the UDP to rid itself of the internal elements with ulterior motives and to finish destroying our great party that are already in shambles…We must send a clear message to all Party Officials that destructive behavior will not be tolerated.”

Following the leaked letter, Trapp reportedly received many calls from concerned UDP supporters urging him to reconsider his position.

“I am here as a servant of the people, and I am guided by their concerns,” Trapp stated.

He now believes that expelling Faber could cause more damage than benefit to the party.

“I sincerely hope that the party accepts this retraction and does not proceed with this matter. Thank you for your understanding,” Trapp concluded.
