Brady Tillett and Ellis Meighan are being held in U.S. – police want them back in Belize

By Aaron Humes: Police continue to work with their American counterparts to return two wanted men to Belize.

Ellis Meighan and Brady Tillett separately escaped to the U.S. and were caught by the authorities over there. Tillett is wanted in the aggravated assault on the home of Commissioner of Police Chester Williams. In contrast, Meighan is wanted in connection with a murder in Placencia a few months ago.

This week, Williams said the documentation to support their return has been submitted to the Americans. They wait for a response: “We’re still going through the process with the US Authority. You know that we are not the ones who have them in our custody as much as we wish we had them, we have not been given that opportunity to have them back home so we have submitted to the US Authority the documentation in respect of both individuals and we’re hoping that once ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] is through with the process that they must go through with them, that they will be able to return them to us back in Belize.”
