Belize Weather: Mostly sunny with isolated showers

By Horace Palacio: The Belize National Meteorological Service forecasts a mostly sunny day with partly cloudy conditions expected tonight. While isolated showers or thunderstorms may occur, the overall weather outlook is generally fair.

Boaters and those enjoying the coast can expect light east to southeasterly winds ranging from 5 to 15 knots. The sea state is slight, with waves measuring 1 to 3 feet. Temperatures along the coast will reach a high of 90°F (32°C) and a low of 80°F (27°C).

Inland regions can anticipate slightly warmer temperatures, with highs reaching 93°F (34°C) and lows around 74°F (23°C). Hilly areas will experience cooler conditions, with highs of 80°F (27°C) and lows of 66°F (19°C).

As of 6:00 AM today, Tropical Storm Debby was located 155 miles southwest of Tampa, Florida. The storm is currently moving north-northwest at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph.

The weather outlook for the week remains generally fair, with isolated showers or thunderstorms possible. However, a few more showers may occur in the north on Monday morning and in the south on Monday night.

High tides are expected at 9:38 AM and 10:53 PM today, with low tides at 4:57 PM today and 4:02 AM tomorrow.

The sun rose at 5:33 AM and will set at 6:24 PM today.

The moon will set at 6:53 PM today and rise again at 6:29 AM tomorrow.
