By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Hurricanes dumped the Belize City Defenders 94-70 on Sunday in Game 3 of the Belize Elite Basketball League (BEBL) Best of Five Final Series at the Belize City Civic Center and have now levelled the series at 2-2.
In a game totally dominated by the Hurricanes, Sidibe Bourama led the onslaught with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Victor Evans accounted for 16 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and two blocks. Amar Ross netted 12 points to go with five rebounds. Tyrie Orozco scored 12 points as well, while Glency Lopez chipped in 10 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
The Defenders couldn’t get their game going as they did on Friday night when they took Game 3 81-75. However, just like he did on Friday night, regular season MVP Nigel Jones led the Defenders with 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Devin Daly scored 11 points and pulled three boards. Daniel Estes netted nine points, grabbed eight renounds, and made three assists and two blocks.
The final and definitive Game 5 is scheduled for Friday, August 9 at 9:00 pm at the Belize City Civic Center.
The Hurricanes won Game One 87-63 but dropped the following two games 62-61 and 81-75.
