Santa Elena Town celebrates opening of New Police Station

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today marked a significant milestone for Santa Elena Town as the Ministry of Home Affairs, in collaboration with the Belize Police Department, officially inaugurated the new Santa Elena Police Station.

The ceremony, attended by Commissioner of Police Chester Williams and other distinguished guests, was held on Carillo Puerto Avenue, the station’s location.

Commissioner Williams expressed his gratitude to both the Ministry and the local community for their unwavering support. He also introduced the new Officer Commanding, who will oversee law enforcement efforts in Santa Elena Town.

Minister of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries Kareem Musa acknowledged the contributions of Commissioner Williams and the community, highlighting their crucial role in enhancing citizen security.

Ministers Alex Balona, Orlando Habet, and Michel Chebat also extended their congratulations to the Ministry, the Police Department, and the residents of Santa Elena. They emphasized that the new station was a long-awaited and necessary development, given the town’s expanding businesses and growing population.

Minister Balona further announced that he has acquired a parcel of land on La Loma Luz Boulevard. Plans are underway to construct a state-of-the-art, permanent police station to better serve the community in the future.

Mayor Earl Trapp also conveyed his appreciation to the Ministries for their commitment to the town.

The new police station is equipped with a dedicated patrol vehicle and two motorcycles, enhancing its capacity to respond effectively to community needs.

This new facility represents a crucial step forward in strengthening public safety and supporting the growing demands of Santa Elena Town.
